A Chinese Conspiracy Plot...About Movies? PDF Print E-mail

In this article, "China Could Undermine U.S.Military Power in the Pacific: Gates", you can see that the Socialist left-wing dictatorship of China is moving to assert its power on numerous levels in the Pacfiic region which will conflict with the United States.   China is a left-wing socialist dictatorship which doesn't allow Free Speech, Free Press, property rights, Freedom of Religion, etc.,  When local elections are held in the outlying areas in a 'democracy experiment', communist party cadre are invariably voted out.   The United States is a democracy with respect for human rights in the Press, Assembly, Religion, Self-Defense and more.

So where's the Movie?

It's probably not going to happen.  The Chinese market of 1.2 billion consumers is too vast and untapped for distribution, internet and other commerce to take a risk on a movie which the Chinese authorities would deem an insult and use to shut down any commercial ties.  Google accepted internet censorship for access to its vast markets.  As noted in the article:

"...Google, the most popular online search engine in the world, has been assisting the Chinese government to censor and monitor its citizens' Internet usage. It has removed web sites and articles that the Chinese government bans from its results.

According to sources from the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) of China, Jiang Mianheng, the son of the former President Jiang Zemin, visited the No. 502
Research Institute of MII right before the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CCP). He was there to see a demonstration of the second generation high-speed Internet, in particular, the high speed of Internet searches. To please the junior Jiang, an engineer typed into the Google search engine the name of his father, "Jiang Zemin." To their surprise, three of the top ten pieces of news detailed unsavory acts committed by the senior Jiang during his reign. In addition, "Evil Jiang Zemin" was listed as the headline! Shocked and outraged, Jiang Mianheng ordered the website blocked.

The same search today in China through Google will indeed please the junior Jiang, since the results now are favorable for the most part."

And since Google prides itself on its motto, "Do No Evil," the plot for evil corporate collussion with a despotic government must be just burning up the copy machines across Hollywood trying to come up with an international film with major box office stars!   Well, maybe not.  But let's add in other corporate collussion with censorship like Yahoo's collusion with the socialist Chinese government to track down a Chinese journalist, Shi Tao.   Tao was a reporter for Contemporary Business News.  He was sentenced to ten years in jail for violating a state secrets act.   The 'act' was sending an email to an American website about secret directives issued by the socialist Chinese propaganda department on how to write about the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre on its upcoming 15th anniversary.   Yahoo's Hong Kong affiliate provided information to track down this brave journalist exposing press manipulation.

A brave journalist defying authority to expose corruption with its rank as manipulated by an evil government!   We can get Julia Roberts to play the Chinese matriarch.   What matriarch?  Write one in! And of course, we can also ask these questions about government conspiracy with the press:  How much would Yahoo and Google and Microsoft and other corporations comply with requests to hunt down Democracy Activists, Muslims, Uighur separatists, those pesky Tibetan monks, Falun Gong and more.   Not to mention that apartheid rears its ugly head with a government focus on minorities in Xinjiang, Tibetans, etc. If the situation were South Africa, the script would be at nine studios with eighteen directors attached.   With Desmond Tutu doing the voice over and a cameo with Nelson Mandela.

Remember:  The Chinese government may seem pleasant and we get all our toys, shirts, electronics and fun stuff labeled with "Made in China."  But behind that reality is a government the American State Department.    The Chinese maintain huge camps of laogai, concentration camps for 'reeducation purposes.'  And in this pre-Olympic report, other groups agree about their abuses:

"Reporters Without Borders said in a statement that the decision "occurs at the worst possible time, just when the situation is worsening prior to the opening of the Olympic Games." Calling the report a "major setback" for the work of human rights organizations in China, the group cited the reported arrest of about 100 Tibetan monks and the detention of activist Hu Jia "and dozens of other freedom of expression advocates" as examples of continuing abuses in China.

Amnesty International USA says the systematic imprisonment of people objecting to the Olympics over the demolition of houses, for example, is just one reason the organization believes human rights conditions in China are "deteriorating" and not improving."

The plot thickens! Now we have support for the government's abuse by Reporters Without Border (sympathetic human rights group) and even the left-wing Amnesty International.   I'm sure that the movie will get made now!

Let's just forget the human rights angle.  How about just plan old warfare?  A Tom Clancy Harrison Ford thriller.   I have examined this issue since the early 1990's and made Chinese expansion a cornerstone of the plot of my novel, "Stealing Thunder." (Shameless Plug! 600 pages long; Tom Clancy epic; waiting for the Amazon jerks to come through with the darn discount price...)  The Chinese military has been advancing on a number of levels to counter the dominance of the American military in the Pacific, particularly in the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN).

In this article, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates says:

"In fact, when considering the military-modernization programs of countries like China, we should be concerned less with their potential ability to challenge the US symmetrically -- fighter to fighter or ship to ship -- and more with their ability to disrupt our freedom of movement and narrow our strategic options," Gates said in a speech to the Air Force Association.

"Investments in cyber and anti-satellite warfare, anti-air and anti-ship weaponry, and ballistic missiles could threaten America's primary way to project power and help allies in the Pacific -- in particular our forward air bases and carrier strike groups," Gates said in National Harbor, Maryland.

After the 1991 Gulf War, the Chinese military was shocked at the capabilities of American aircraft with cruise missiles and other weapons which could essentially put a missle down a chimney.  They figured that they could not duplicate the massive military and naval capabilities of the United States so they wisely (remember that where Sun Tzu wrote the "Art of War") countered in a number of ways.   They started emphasizing ship to ship missile capabilities.  What the Iranians have termed the 'swarm capability'.   The Iranians have militarized the Strait of Hormuz with seabed mines, small craft missile boats and other multiple target arrays.  In other words, the American or Western navies defending the right of free passage in International waters in the Gulf would have not a half-dozen capital ship targets but thousands of smaller targets.

The Chinese have learned from the Gulf War and set a strategy that won't bankrupt their "Free-Enterprise-as-long-as-The-Generals-Get-Their-Cut Economy" like the Socialist Soviet Union which tumbled competing with Ronald Reagan's brilliant strategy.   The Chinese have realized the importance of infrastructure attacks with cyberattacks.   Their method of "Death by a Thousand Cuts" might be an appropriate metaphor for their strategy as explained in "Unrestricted Warfare", a book about Chinese strategy.  In this book, the authors - two Chinese colonels - said in the preface:

"Naturally, the causes behind the enormous changes are too numerous to mention, but there are only a few reasons that people bring up repeatedly. One of those is the Gulf War. One war changed the world. Linking such a conclusion to a war which occurred one time in a limited area and which only lasted 42 days seems like something of an exaggeration. However, that is indeed what the facts are, and there is no need to enumerate one by one all the new words that began to appear after 17 January 1991. It is only necessary to cite the former Soviet Union, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, cloning, Microsoft, hackers, the Internet, the Southeast Asian financial crisis, the euro, as well as the world's final and only superpower -- the United States. These are sufficient. They pretty much constitute the main subjects on this planet for the past decade."

Two potential strategies stand out in this paragraph:  The Internet and Money.   Indeed, the Chinese colonels go on to say:

"When people begin to lean toward and rejoice in the reduced use of military force to resolve conflicts, war will be reborn in another form and in another arena, becoming an instrument of enormous power in the hands of all those who harbor intentions of controlling other countries or regions. In this sense, there is reason for us to maintain that the financial attack by George Soros on East Asia, the terrorist attack on the U.S. embassy by Usama Bin Laden, the gas attack on the Tokyo subway by the disciples of the Aum Shinri Kyo, and the havoc wreaked by the likes of Morris Jr. on the Internet, in which the degree of destruction is by no means second to that of a war, represent semi-warfare, quasi-warfare, and sub-warfare, that is, the embryonic form of another kind of warfare."

Even better, now we have George Soros involved.   Hee crushed the Malaysian and British currencies by manipulating the markets.  What better plot can we get for our movie than a greedy international capitalist predator!  In Wikipedia (I don't think the Chinese control it...yet):

"The foreign ministers of the 10 ASEAN countries believed that the well co-ordinated manipulation of their currencies was a deliberate attempt to destabilize the ASEAN economies. Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad accused George Soros of ruining Malaysia's economy with "massive currency speculation."

Forget all those studio executives, agents, famous directors.  I'm going to write the new movie.    I'm just going to get on Google...find information...and store it on my Chinese made hard drive....and blow this case wide open....

If...only....I can.....

Why di d the internet suddenly get so slowwww?

My chinese made hard drive is...failing?

But....Ihave to write that script...
