iPhone Forensics Helping Police Investigations
Written by Michael Benjamin
A fascinating column on police forensics on iPhones. Once book is called 'iPhone Forensics". An article, written up about the iPhone's use in an investigation says:
"There's plenty of information an iPhone hangs onto," Jonathan Zdziarski, author of iPhone Forensics, told FoxNews.com. "For example, the iPhone takes a screen shot every time you hit the home button, including shots of your e-mail with the time stamped on it."
And these pieces of information are also critically useful in an investigation:
It's not difficult to understand law enforcement's enthusiasm for the iPhone. Equipped with GPS, a camera, and a Web browser, it can provide a wealth of data to police trying to track a criminal's movements and actions:
* Mapping software will store locations you've searched or directions you've received.
* The auto correcting typing feature of iPhones actually stores words you've typed, which could potentially be accessed months after a message was sent and deleted.
* Photos taken with the phone can contain information about where, when and with which device the image was captured.
* Web browser information is also often stored, such as reservations the owner has made or sites they have visited.
Action: Field Stripping Record by 11 year old - Compete
Written by Michael Benjamin
Action: You should know how to field strip your weapon as a matter of practice and skill.
In difficult economic times, crimes goes up. And in these difficult economic times, many cities throughout the country gave lavish pensions to their police, fire and other public servants. Police and Fireman certainly deserve good pensions, but perhaps at 100% of their pay scale, these pensions were given without proper financial projects for the future when property and tax revenues declined. If so, then cities may be considering bankruptcy to reorganize and reset their pensions. This situation might mean fewer police - and more crime. Not to mention that when the Los Angeles riots occurred in 1992, the police would only respond to major emergencies - and still then not right away.
So be prepared to defend yourself. Practice your skills to see if you can get a better time than this 11 year old girl.

Great Quote and Insight
Written by Michael Benjamin
"A leadership class that actually improved ordinary Americans' security and opportunities would be forgiven condescension worse than Obama's," writes Voegeli. It is when government is both disrespectful and ineffectual that people get angry, and this is the origin of the Tea Party. In his conclusion Voegeli restates his thesis in a different form:
The Tea Party mission can be described in another way. What's at stake in the war conservatives have declared on Obamacare is not only 18% of our economy, but 100% of our polity. If the anger over what the Democrats enacted, and the way they passed it, is replaced by acquiescence, America will have taken a big step toward having not only policies but political processes that are indistinguishable from Europe's. If the people who brought you Obamacare are not rebuked in the elections of 2010 and 2012, they, emboldened, will pursue further social transformations, regardless of popular opposition. Our ruling elites will eagerly adopt their European counterparts' posture toward the people: You are wrong. We know better. We will do this, and you will like it. To permit Obamacare to stand is to permit such an assertion to go unchallenged, and guarantee that it will become routine. By their passivity, the people will be complicit in their own disempowerment. As Frederick Douglass said in 1857, "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them."

Tactic: Create False Accusations of Racism
Written by Michael Benjamin
On March 20th, something truly extraordinary happened. On the eve of the health care vote, a group of black Democrat Congressmen (eschewing the private tunnels they usually use to cross from their offices to the Capitol) chose to walk en masse through a crowd of protesters, confident that the knuckledragging Tea Party goons they and their media pals have reviled for a year now would respond with racial epithets.
And then, when the crowd didn't, the black Congressmen made it up anyway. Representative Andre Carson (Democrat, Indiana) insisted he heard the N-word 15 times. He's either suffering from the same condition as that Guam-flipper from Georgia, or he's a liar. At a scene packed not only with crews from the Dem poodle media but with a gazillion cellphone cameras, not one single N-word has been caught on audio. (By contrast, see my post yesterday for how easy it is to get it on tape when real epithets are flying.)
Fighting Cyberwarfare

US appoints first cyber warfare general
Pentagon creates specialist online unit to counter cyber attack amid growing fears of militarisation of the internet
The US military has appointed its first senior general to direct cyber warfare – despite fears that the move marks another stage in the militarisation of cyberspace.
The newly promoted four-star general, Keith Alexander, takes charge of the Pentagon's ambitious and controversial new Cyber Command, designed to conduct virtual combat across the world's computer networks. He was appointed on Friday afternoon in a low-key ceremony at Fort Meade, in Maryland.
The creation of America's most senior cyber warrior comes just days after the US air force disclosed that some 30,000 of its troops had been re-assigned from technical support "to the frontlines of cyber warfare".
The creation of Cyber Command is in response to increasing anxiety over the vulnerability of the US's military and other networks to a cyber attack.
